100 Club Opportunity

What is the 100 Club?

The 100 Club is a volunteer, benevolent organization committed to providing immediate financial assistance to the families of law enforcement officers and firefighters. The 100 Club originated in Detroit in 1952. In 1968, 20 businessmen formed the 100 Club of Arizona.

Benefits:

The 100 Club of Arizona has paid out over half a million dollars to families of public safety workers killed or seriously injured in the line of duty. Originally, the benefits were only paid to surviving family members or officials killed in the line of duty. Now, the 100 Club pays benefits to officers seriously injured in the line of duty. Last year, the 100 Club paid out $58,000 to public safety personnel in Arizona. This total included $15,000 to 6 members of the Phoenix Police family.

The 100 Club has also started facilitating fundraisers for specific needs. Tens of thousands of dollars have been raised for public safety personnel and family members in the name of the 100 Club. Phoenix Police Officers Jason Schechterle and Jeff Dauer are examples of recent fundraising benefits.

How can you help?

The Phoenix Police Department has joined with the 100 Club to offer a payroll deduction plan to support the 100 Club. Members of the Phoenix Police Department can now have their 100 Club membership dues directly deducted from their payroll checks. The payroll deduction amounts to $6.25 from the first and second paycheck of every month, for a total of $150 per year. The 100 Club is a charitable nonprofit Arizona corporation. The membership dues are tax deductible. Your membership includes the fee for the annual banquet held in the spring of each year.

Traditionally, the 100 Club has been a purely community based organization. The 100 Club aspires to grow their membership in order to increase the benefits paid to public safety officers in Arizona. In response to strong demand, the 100 Club is now actively seeking participants for within the public safety profession. Please consider helping other public safety professionals by joining the 100 Club.
